These sessions are customized birthday themes. A typical cake smash session is meant to take place about 3 weeks before your child’s actual birthday. We start the session with typical first birthday portraits and then dive into the cake smash session. These sessions range anywhere from 1-1.5 hours depending on your little one. The actual Cake smash shoots dare typically child-led, your child is usually in control. If they are getting bored or if they need a break, we take a break. For this reason, these sessions can sometimes take longer.
For me, it’s always interesting and fun to see the way children react. Many people are so surprised at how little cake is actually eaten.
If you do not want a cake smash regular birthday portraits are available to capture those precious years minus the mess and clean up. It’s not as much time trying to persuade the little one to dig in and eat cake. These are typically shorter sessions and are max about an hour in length.
